De-cluttering life itself Each time we approach the end of a year we start thinking about the next year. We can’t help it. Perhaps it is a way to distract ourselves from the great plans we had for this year that remain un-done. 2008 saw some interesting processes happening that were not necessarily on the New Years Resolutions List. People began to make plans, think of what they wanted to do, set goals—big and small—get ready to take on a major project. Fear did not seem to get in the way as it had in the past. It was all about “I want to do this, and I know I can achieve this.” Plans and commitments were made—many that had not even been an embryonic thought prior to that moment when it burst fully formed into the mind. The next interesting process that set into play, perhaps around the second half of 2008, was that people started to organize themselves. This took place in two areas: personal and home. Personal Organization. Many people on their spiritual path began to experience greater growth opportunities. These were not necessarily a ‘walk in the park’ as many people had clearly chosen to do as much as they could as fast as they could (though it is likely they did not make this decision consciously!) There have been people who have faced their greatest issues and fears, from reactive patterns of anger, judgment, criticism, resentment, to fear of lack, poverty, failure even of success. They have faced them to a deeper level, or over and over, so that they could recognize them, own them, and evolve sufficiently to release them. For example, if we understand that our resentment causes more resentment the onus is on us to release resentment and look for things that are more positive. Or, if we tend to criticize things frequently to a point where people comment on our negative attitude, then it is time we stopped criticizing and looked for the good stuff in life. Life goes where energy flows. Other people have had everything they believed in smashed down, including their idea of who they thought they were. Out of that destruction and chaos they were able to recreate themselves, pulling the Light parts of themselves, the Loving parts of themselves together, and to release that which was not Light and Love. They were recreated as the truest picture of themselves, yet with the understanding that we are all evolving. The destruction was necessary so that they could release falsity and allow truth to stand clearly before them. With the freedom to release old patterns and reactiveness, they were able to embrace a higher Self, to allow Divinity to step into their identity. Home Organization. How many people do you know who have felt the impulse to tidy and organize their house in a new way this year? Many have begun to sort through heir possessions and give away, sell, or throw away that which they no longer need. Clutter has been released. Filing systems have been implemented so things can be found quickly and easily. Routines to attend to specific chores have been put in place so that paperwork or chores do not build up or so that chaos does not take over again. People have organized their workspaces, filed things away, tidied up, and committed to keeping on top of things so that they do not slowly disappear behind rising piles of papers, bills, and junk mail. It’s all about efficiency—of time, energy and action. Gardens. Perhaps this is combined with the ‘global economic downturn’, but whether it is or not, the fact remains that there is a new commitment to being as self-sufficient in vegetable production as we can. In the past most people with a vegetable plot have grown vegetables simply because it is part of their way of life—our parents and grandparents always had a great big vegetables garden, in fact no Christmas dinner ever passed without fresh new potatoes from the garden. There is nothing more satisfying that wandering outside on Saturday and picking some tomatoes and basil and lettuce and making a fresh salad sandwich for lunch. That food is as high in energy as you could ask for. Self sufficiency in the vegetable garden is, surely, a way of living that we should always have embraced. More people are realizing this, and returning to a simpler way of life. The trend to get organized is a part of that simplifying of life. Organization, efficiency and peace, are all necessary components to embrace an incoming wave of energy. What will that wave bring? The opportunity to face every circumstance of life with Grace and Divinity.
