Find the balance in life
In a world where money has been given prime importance, it can be difficult to look beyond the need to pay the bills, and see the need to nurture the Soul So involved are people’s efforts in earning an income, that they don’t have the time, or energy to think of anything beyond that. What this has led to is a starvation of spiritual values, a lack of spiritual nourishment. How does this happen? Simple, it happens because very few people know what it is like to feel spiritually satisfied. Yet there is such an undercurrent through society of ‘something missing’ of something unfulfilled. The missing something is the nourishment of our spiritual half, and the bringing out into the sunlight of that spiritual side. Too often people with spiritual values feel they must keep it hidden or be ridiculed, or they simply choose to live their own beliefs quietly without risking mockery. And let’s be honest here: many people in the world mock new age spiritual beliefs as a ‘crock’. The irony is that we are all Souls living here, we are all Soul densified into physical bodies, and we are all of the same origin, we are all a part of the energy of I AM, and denying that does not change the truth. You will, however, not convince them of that. And so, continue to live your truth, as quietly or as noisily as you choose, for you will never be able to please all of the people all of the time. The world, or rather the society upon the world, is out of balance, and balance needs to be restored. You cannot live one half of your life and eternally ignore the other half, for sooner or later that ignored half will cry out to be heard, and you will feel a sense of ‘something missing’. We are all a duality, capable of existing in the physical material world and the spiritual unseen world at the same time. It is a fine balance, calling on complete and truthful sight and understanding. Some people deal with life by trusting their ‘gut instinct’, and this is actually a good example of people trusting their spiritual side—for that is where the instinct is coming from. There are many people who would claim to not be spiritual, and yet rely on their gut instinct to make important decisions. To live in balance is to understand that our quiet spiritual nature needs to be recognized and nurtured. Sitting quietly in the doorstep, listening to the world, feeling the energy of the world, this puts us back into a sense of connection with that world. Learning how our body responds to the foods we eat, puts us back in touch with our body. And learning to listen, to feel, to empathize, to pay attention to our extra-senses puts us back in connection with our spiritual self and our Guidance. If we can begin to achieve some steps forward in these areas then we can begin to achieve a greater wisdom, for there is much that we could learn that would enable us to stop getting in our own way in life. We are not here to gain as much money as possible, to be as powerful as possible, to have as many possessions as possible. We are not here for the fancy clothes, the nice food, the wonderful wines, and the flash cars. We are here to experience, to respond, to help, to learn to grow, to spiritually evolve, to nurture one another and to nurture our world. We are here to live the greatest expression of our greatest truth. At the end of our lifetime we will not be measured by the material things and the wealth that we amassed. We will be judged by the kind of person we were, by the difference we made in other people’s lives, by the difference we made to this world, by how we lived in this world. And the greatest judge on that will be ourselves. It is not difficult to see where we have gone wrong. We harvest rainforests because we want money, but we do not consider the global impact of deforestation. We overfish so as to earn as much money as possible, and do not considered that every species needs time to breed. We take more land and do not consider the species that lived upon and within that land. We over-mine, and do not consider the damage done and left behind. We see a starving person, but the giggling coins remain in our pocket because we fear lack and are afraid to give anything away. We grow some vegetables in our back yard and do not give the excess to our neighbors because we have never really got to know each other. We see atrocities in the world and feel that we, as one person, can make no difference, and so we stay silent. We take away the wilderness and then lament the extinction of so many species. We hunt and slaughter rare animals because we can sell their parts for money, and we do not care of their right to life. We kill so many beautiful creatures and claim it is our right to eat them, when there are so many other things we could eat. We dump chemicals all over our crops to make them grow bigger and faster and don’t consider that there could be any long term health risks—and then we wonder why cancer is so rampant in our world. We justify our rages and tempers, and do not consider the damage they do. We ignore our families while we surf the internet, and then lament that they don’t want to spend time with us. We blame others for our actions instead of taking responsibility for everything we do. We put money
ahead of what is right. It is time to reconsider the way we live. Put what is right ahead of profits. Help a person who is in need, instead of clinging tight to our pennies. Grow your own vegetables and spend time in the fresh air and in the garden, nurturing plants, turning the soil, cherishing where our food comes from. In these steps, and in these realizations will be found a better way to live. And within that will come a reconnection to a more loving and honest way of life. Listen to your heart. Listen to your Soul. Meditate, or sit quietly for some time each day. Be unconditionally loving and compassionate. Support and encourage people to pursue their dreams not the almighty dollar, for in the pursuit of money they will not find happiness. Tis better to have enough to live on and do what you love to do, that to have an abundance of wealth and be miserable and unfulfilled every day. Life is a gift to be cherished, both our life and the life of every living creature. A spiritual path will bring you face to face with that which holds you back, and force you to deal with it so that you can move on. Baggage, such as resentment, rage, intolerance, refusal to accept responsibility for yourself, cannot be taken. This is a baggage free journey, and it will challenge you, make you face everything about yourself that is negative, that is preventing you from being all that you can be. Start the journey. Bring life back into balance. And you will find a vastly improved way of living and a vastly healthier world.
